Distribution extended: (Western Cape) Akkedis Mountain and Maanskyn Nature Reserve, on the Kleinriviers Mountains (Fig. 1), and the lower slopes of the Koeël Mountain near Rockview Dam.

Type Locality: “Maanskynkop in the Kleinrivier Mountains (34.372889° S, 19.326712° E)”
Notes:

Habitat: Fynbos
Habitat extended: Temporary shallow pools with emergent sedge-like plants.

 

Natural History: Capensibufo selenophos has no advertisement call

Biology: Breeds in large aggregations in the winter rainfall season.

Conservation Status: According to the IUCN Red List, this species is classified as "Data Deficient," indicating that there is inadequate information to make a direct, or indirect, assessment of its risk of extinction.
